What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Cookies do many useful things — remembering preferences, keeping you logged in, measuring traffic. Some are placed by the site you’re visiting (first-party); some by other services the site uses (third-party).
Our approach
We default to no non-essential cookies. We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics (Plausible) for usage measurement, so we don’t need a consent banner under PECR. We never set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on dentdial.ai.
Cookies we currently use
Strictly necessary (no consent required)
- cf_clearance — Cloudflare. Confirms your browser is not a bot. First-party, ~30 mins.
- dd_session — dentdial. Signed-in session for app users. First-party, expires on logout or after 7 days.
- dd_csrf — dentdial. Cross-site request forgery token to keep forms safe. First-party, session-only.
Analytics (cookieless)
We use Plausible Analytics, which counts page views without setting cookies or collecting personal identifiers. No consent banner is needed for this. Read Plausible’s approach.
Third-party services we do not use on this site
- Google Analytics
- Meta Pixel / Facebook Pixel
- LinkedIn Insight Tag
- Twitter / X conversion tracking
- TikTok pixel
- Hotjar / FullStory / session-replay tools
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website or app from working. Useful guides:
Changes
If we add new cookies — for example, a video embed on a product page — we will update this list and, where required, ask for your consent first.
